Three Ways to Begin Organising Your Family Records

Whether you are exploring the idea for the first time or ready to work through a full archive, we have a session format that fits where your family is now.

Our Methodology

How We Approach Heritage Record Organisation

All three of our session formats follow the same underlying principle: start with what the family has, identify what needs labelling and indexing, and produce a physical reference that the family can maintain independently.

We do not begin by asking families to sort or discard anything. We begin by helping them see what they have and build a structure around it. The sorting and decisions about what to keep are left entirely to the family — our role is to provide the framework and the materials.

Sessions are always held at our studio on Lebuh Pantai, where the space is set up for this kind of careful work. We keep session sizes small by design: maximum six participants for workshops, and individual or two-person attendance for briefings.

Session 02

Family Archive Workshop

A small workshop in which a family assembles a printed reference of where family records and keepsakes are kept, with a small archive index. The workshop is run as labelling and reference work, not as opinions about specific household matters. Participants leave with a working draft binder and a labelled cover sheet.

What you will complete:

A draft binder assembled during the workshop session
A small archive index listing record locations
A labelled cover sheet identifying the binder's contents
Guidance on extending the binder at home after the session
