Why Bequestly

A Considered Way to Bring Order

Unhurried Pace

Each session moves at a pace that suits your family. There is no pressure to complete more than feels comfortable at any one time.

Tangible Materials

Every session ends with something physical — a folder kit, a labelled binder, or a printed handbook — so the work is visible and easy to continue at home.

Family-Centred Approach

Our workshops bring family members together around a shared task, making the process a meaningful group effort rather than one person's responsibility.

Scope We Respect

We work only in the areas of organisation and archiving. We do not offer opinions on legal positions, asset distribution, or professional valuations of any kind.

Based in George Town

Our studio is located on Lebuh Pantai in George Town, a familiar part of Penang with good access for families across the island.

Educational at Heart

Every session is structured around sharing knowledge — how to label, how to index, how to create a durable reference — so families leave with skills they can use independently.

Common Questions

Frequently Asked

What does "heritage records organisation" actually cover? +

We help families bring order to physical and digital records that carry family meaning — birth certificates, marriage certificates, old photographs, handwritten letters, property documents already in your possession, and similar materials. Our sessions cover labelling, indexing, scanning checklists, and the creation of reference binders. We do not offer opinions on legal matters or asset valuations.

Is this a legal or advisory service? +

No. Bequestly is strictly an educational and archival service. Our facilitators help families organise and reference their records — they do not hold legal qualifications and do not offer opinions on wills, estate matters, or any other legal or financial positions. For those matters, we would encourage you to speak with a qualified solicitor or financial adviser.

How long does each type of session take? +

The Heritage Records Briefing runs for approximately two hours. The Family Archive Workshop is a half-day session. The Heritage Records Programme spans multiple sessions over several weeks, with each individual session lasting two to three hours. Schedules are arranged with families individually to suit availability.

Do I need to bring all my documents to the first session? +

For the briefing session, you do not need to bring any documents — the session is informational and introductory. For the workshop and programme, we will guide you beforehand on which categories of materials to gather. You do not need everything in perfect order before you arrive; part of the session's purpose is to help you sort through mixed collections.

Can more than one family member attend? +

Yes. The workshop and programme formats are designed with multiple family members in mind and work well when two or three family members attend together. The briefing is typically attended by one or two people. We can accommodate up to six participants for the workshop. Please mention family group size when you enquire so we can plan accordingly.

Where are sessions held? +

All sessions are held at our studio at 7 Lebuh Pantai, George Town, Pulau Pinang. The space is quiet, comfortable, and set up for careful document work. Parking is available nearby. If distance is a concern, please do get in touch and we will discuss what options are available.

What are your session fees and how do I pay? +

The Heritage Records Briefing is RM 480, the Family Archive Workshop is RM 1,650, and the Heritage Records Programme is RM 4,300. Fees are confirmed at the time of booking. Payment details are provided once a session date has been agreed. We accept bank transfer and several other common payment methods.
